The narrator wakes up and tells us that he's been sleeping all this time. He's not worried about his wife, though, because he knows that she's busy with work. He tells her that he has a big decision to make: he wants to join the company after the baby's born, so that he can learn how to run it. He says that he was a "top student" from a business school, so he'll be able to learn quickly. He also says that there's a "law of the jungle" in business: "a white little rabbit" like you would eat alive . The narrator is all, "I'm going to join your company, and I'll learn to do business so that you can share the burden of running the company with me" . He doesn't know how to respond to the mom's question: "what should we do?" . She says that her husband is in prison, and her daughter is also in prison. She begs him to find a lawyer, but he says that no lawyer will take her son's case. She tells him that she heard a "super awesome big lawyer" move to their neighborhood recently, and the lawyer won the inheritance for her daughter's son. She asks the narrator if he can take her to the lawyer, and he agrees. He then tells the old woman that he will pay the lawyer three hundred thousand , but that he wants her to keep the receipt. The old woman says that the lawyer is professional, so she'll keep everything in his good hands. She also tells the narrator to make sure that she can't return from the dead, and that she won't be near her husband.
