The scene opens with Ren ping's mother, Madame Guizhou, asking her son why he is crying. Ren ping tells her that he is going to the factory to find out what is going on with the mistress, and she tells him to go to her mother and ask her why she is so upset. She also tells Ren that she has found out that the mistress is the same woman as the one Ren has been talking to. Ren tells her to stop crying and to stop threatening her father with a baby. He also tells her not to buy into her father's crazy words.
