Long explains that they need to use the treasure from the temple's vault to make an elixir that will revive the dragon's dormant power. He tells Long and Long alone that they will have to be separated from one another in order to complete this task. Long says that he is in debt to Lady Long, and that he does not want her to be in any danger. He explains that the seventh prince is afraid that if Long falls in love, he will abandon the service of the country. If the prince continues to avoid his duty, Long will only make Lady Long fall deeper into love. If he can't love her, it is better to give her up and hand her over to him.
