This chapter opens with a description of how the soldiers of the Ming Emperor's army enter the palace. The soldiers form a chong-e formation and fight side-by-side with the enemy soldiers. This is a very old battle tactic that was used by the ancients. This tactic allows the soldiers to fight back three-sidedly against the enemy. The Ming Emperor has ordered no visitors to the palace before the "day of blessing," so the soldiers are free to enter.
