In the forest, Gu diao and his friend, the old fart, are on their way to the fishing village, where they plan to stay for a few months. Gu asks why they're going, and the fart says that he's upset because he knows that Gu wants his blood, and that's why Gu wants him to leave the academy. Gu doesn't have any grudges against the old man, so he can complete the mission as usual. Gu says that the knife Gu wants to use to fight half-demons is just like a regular knife, but it won't heal the wound quickly. Gu explains that he has sent his men to chase down the demons, but that they'll have to wait a long time before they can do it again. Gu also explains that mermaids have a reputation as being one of the "top three charming half- demons" . He says that even if there were some survivors of mermaids, they'd never approach because they live deep in the sea, and they've never been seen before.
