This chapter's epigraph comes from a poem by the famous poet Siddhartha Mukherjee. The poem is about a young man who is about to be born. The young man asks the poem's author to tell him about his birth. The poet responds by saying that he has no idea what to do with his life now that he is a man. He asks the young man if he has any ideas about how to awaken his blood power. The man says that he does not know how to do this because he has never heard of the divine night soul system. He also says that baize did not want his sons to awaken the blood power of his ancestors because he wanted them to remain pure in his blood. In other words, baize wanted his sons not to awaken their own blood power, which is why they were born without a family. This is why he did not tell them about their extraordinary birth. He says that the power of healing qi is one of the strengths of baize, and that he would like to use this power to repair his hidden wounds. The voice of raki interrupts this conversation and says, "What a big fish, cat shark, meow" .
