This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Biyuancheng in which she laments the fact that she does not have a gold ruyao soup vessel, which is a royal gift. She also laments that the prince is a tyrant and that she should not tell him about her discovery. She then goes on to criticize the prince for detaining her by force and then pushing her off the tree. She calls him a demon and tells him that he should treat her more kindly.
