Six years have passed since the battle of Darnay, and David is psyched to be back on the battlefield. He tells his ladies-in-waiting that he's going to take them to Darnay's house, where they'll find out what's up with the electro-media company. They'll have to stay awake all night, he says, because the commander is going to chew them out for whatever they've done wrong today. David's not having it. He's already seen that they're lying to him, and he wants to kill them. But he can't figure out the long-term future, so he doesn't want to kill the two "maggots" who've been manipulating him. David tells them that he and Darnay have another assignment for them.
