In this chapter, we are introduced to a young woman who is in love with a man named Yulan. She has a dream in which she and Yulan are lovers, and the dream is interrupted by the arrival of the paparazzi, who have taken pictures of Yulan and the young man. Yulan is shocked to learn that the paparazzi have taken the pictures, and that the young woman has received the pictures through an e-mail sent by Yulan to her employer, Mr. Yang. She is also shocked to discover that Mr. Liang has sent the pictures to Yulan, as well. She also learns that the pictures were taken by the same person who took the pictures of the young couple in the first place. She wonders why Mr. Liu has not told her of the incident, and wonders if he is trying to protect Yulan from the paparazzi's pictures. She
