About This Chapter
In the palace of the King of the Elves, Jane is begging her father to let her go back to the kingdom with him. She tells him that she has brought back the evil spirit, but that she did not kill either one. She says that if someone had not tried to take her father's credit, she would not have missed the chance to bring back the spirit. Jane tells her father that the gift of the tear from the prince is a thank-you, and that she will leave him alone if there is anything else she can do for him.
