About This Chapter
When the girls return from their trip to their grandfather's house, they find that their father has gone to pick them up, and that their grandfather is waiting for them at his house. The grandfather tells the girls that his flight is the next day, so he's here to deliver a present to them after the performance. He tells them that he'll visit their home after the festival and bring them food. He says that he used to like pumpkin pie baked by his mom best, but that he doesn't expect him to make it for his daughter. He also tells her that he hasn't seen the girls so shy before, and he thinks they're like long lost siblings. He asks why the book on her window is wrapped in layers of plastic, and she says that it's for dust prevention. He then asks her if she's watching him perform, and when she replies that she is, he asks her why she feels so perfunctory. She says that she has to prepare papers for the show after watching it, so she won't have time to talk to him. He promises to come back to see her again when he is free.
