About This Chapter
In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he's going to visit the lawyer for Bai Hu's father. The lawyer is going to help the young man find a way to get out of the mess that's been created by the murder of his father. He's also going to ask Bai Hu about his future plans. The narrator doesn't want to be friends with Bai Hu, but he does want to know what he wants to do with his life. He tells the lawyer that he used to dream about starting a company and leading a bunch of people like his father, but his father told him that being a good leader wasn't that big of a deal. So the narrator says that he wishes he could be like his dad and be proud of what he did. The next time he sees Bai Hu he thinks that his father seems to be trying to teach him to be a bad teacher. He also thinks that the blonde hair on his head reminds him of a painting. Bai Hu seems confused, but not as thin as a teenager. The blonde hair shines like a painting, and the narrator thinks that it's because of the painting that Bai Hu is obsessed with. He thinks that this is because of a guy named Xu Kezhen, who he thinks is a friend of his dad. But according to the rumor, the guy who framed the guy is still in prison, and Bai Hu didn't go to check on his wound. He just stares at the guy's wound. The scene reminds the narrator of a scene from a movie called "The Little Lion Has Grown Up." The narrator says he'd like to know if Bai Hu has decided to become a director or a band manager.
