About This Chapter
The narrator is sitting in a classroom with his classmates. He feels as though he is an old man. They all seem to think that he is pathetic, and he feels like an old fool. He asks if he can speak English, and if he is not a fool, he asks if the wind has inspired him to write a new piece of music. The narrator then asks about the people in his life, and asks if they are friends, acquaintances, club members, or just acquaintances. He then asks who asked him to be a model for her the next day, and she tells him that he was asked to be the model instead of him. He tells her that he can't understand why she would ask him to do such a thing, since she has so many friends. He says that she is the one who is going through women "like it is out of style," and that she should stop pointing her finger at him, since he can attend any public class he wants. He also asks if she knows a guy called Fang-Tang, and says that he does. She asks him what he thinks of him, and when he says he is cute, she says she thinks he is "an obsessive" and "suspicious" .
