About This Chapter
Chapter 43 opens with a discussion between the two hwashan leaders. The first leader, Shu-chi, and the second leader, Ho-chong, are talking about a fish that they caught in the sea. The second leader is trying to catch a fish, but the first is not interested. The two men discuss the fact that the second is better than the first at catching fish, and they decide to go check out what's happening in the pond. They notice that the first seems to be moving faster than the second, and that the woman they're looking for is heading toward the second. The men decide to hang out until they can check out the situation, and Shu-Chi says that he's happy that he has a concubin after all this time. He's surprised that the other leader is moving so fast, and he thinks it's because he hasn't been paying attention. Shu-Ching says that only the highest-level of martial artists from the sect can produce plum flowers, and these are now fully blossomed. He thinks that this is because the second master is using nam-gung's technique, which means that he is using his family's skill. He also says that the heavenly king skill is the same as the heavenly emperor skill, which is the 36th level of martial art. He says that even after using this skill, he still feels like he has "life energy left" because of the plum blossom skill. The other two men are worried about Shu-Chun and Ho-Chong, but they can't figure out how to stop them.
