In this short scene, the Governess explains that she was disappointed that she wasn't unhappy and that she wanted her to be happy so that she could be someone important. She says that she's already more important than she thought she was, and that's why she wants to help her. The Governess tells the audience that her heart has already changed, and she doesn't want to like the man anymore. She decides to go find the man and find out if he's attractive enough for her to fall for him. She wonders if the phantom mistook her physique for him, and then wonders if he has mistaken her aura for his. She goes to the house of the phantom and finds out that he has told her that he'll be home soon. She's happy to be home, but she still remembers the first day they met and the memories they had together.
