In this chapter, we learn that the king's son, the youngest son, has been adopted by the king as his own son. The king is so impressed with his son's intelligence that he decides to keep him around as a ward of the king. When the king learns that the princess and her brother are not able to contact him, he appoints a personal butler to take care of them.
