This chapter opens with a conversation between Aunt Ju and Uncle Ju. Aunt Ju tells Uncle Ju that her son has confessed to her that he loves her. Uncle Ju tries to force his way into the conversation, but Aunt Ju refuses to allow him to do so. She tells him that she expects him to reject her, since he has always treated her like a child. She says that since she likes her son, she should try to understand him. This is the lesson that the awakening helmet teaches about love. She also says that linqi has been soundproofing the villa, and that's why this is such a bad place to be. She admits defeat, and says that she should have blown up the villa of her brother-in-law.
