In this chapter, the hermits discuss the fate of humans. They will one day become "real moon hermits" . They are born to guide people to the truth, they are the "hot-blooded" ones, and they have been using them for information about the disappearances of girls. The hermits tell Nyx that he needs a "witch core" to bring his wife back from the moon, and that if he does not get it, the soldiers will not be able to stop the queen. Nyx says that he will have to win him if he wants to take Nyx's wife with him. If he senses danger for Nyx, he will take the dog and leave.
