About This Chapter
It's been a while since we've seen Shylock, but we're back. He's back at the university, where he's living with his uncle. Shylock's got a bunch of new friends, including an orange cat, a ball, a baby, and a fat little boy. They're all in love with him, but they're not allowed to live in the school dormitories. They can't leave alone, either. The orange cat teases Shylock about how fat the baby is, and the little boy teases him about how much he likes the orange cat. The little boy says he'd be happier if the cat were five animals, because that's how skinny he is. The boy says that he was worried about Shylock that day, but now he doesn't have to worry about him at all. He can accept everyone, he says. The cat crawls into his clothes, and it's not cool that it crawled into his pants. He asks Shylock to get the cat out of his pants, but Shylock is too scared to do so. He tells him to go back to the editor's office and fix up some of the lines in his script, and then he'll go to the store to pick up his brother tomorrow.
