In this short scene, the narrator laments the fact that he has joined the school's "volleyball team" , which consists of a bunch of boys who play the sport. He's bummed out because the girl he's hanging out with is way too big for him, and he doesn't want to be her friend. He even wants to marry her, but she's too good for him. He can't even believe that she keeps staring at him, even though he'd rather die than be with her. He tells himself, "I'm home" . He says that he'll have to work harder to make her look his way, since he has no money to buy her a drink. He also tells himself that if he just says hello to her, she'll give him something to work with. The narrator's not a fan of "porn fiends," but he does admit that he wants to get back to his job.
