The chapter opens with jesus asking why he's still guarding him. He's not mad, he says, and he doesn't want to be his partner. He thinks that if he were the one who shot at the woman, he wouldn't be mad at anyone else for shooting at her. He also thinks that the woman would have been better off dead, since she's the only person who could have killed him. The chapter ends with a discussion of the pardon that's been arranged for the two men. The narrator says that the time has come for the men to face the consequences of what they've done. He says that he wants to see someone the next time he sees them.
