About This Chapter
On the eve of Persia's 21st birthday, Juliet asks her brother to join her in celebrating with her. She tells him that every year, the schoolmates throw a big party for her, but this year, she's going to do it herself. Juliet tells her brother that they've gotten a present for him: a rosary. He's not sure what it is, but he's sure that it's a gift for him from his brother. Juliet doesn't know what to make of it. She says that the peace treaty between the school and the family is just a formality, and that she'll expel her brother from the house and from school. She also says that she can't understand why her brother would buy her a rosary without thinking about what it was for. Juliet says that her brother bought the rosary without realizing that it was a gift from her brother. She's shocked that he would buy such a thing, and she says that he'll be branded a traitor and expelled from the family. She adds that she won't betray the school, since the school is under the control of the school prefects. Juliet then says that six days have passed, and the day before her brother's birthday, the party has already taken place. She and her brother plan to bake a bigger cake for her birthday, and they're sure that the white cats will make a fuss over it. They're going to have a party at the fountain, where the school's prefects will be waiting for them at midnight. Juliet is shocked that she has dared to defy her brother, but she says she can see the same defiance in his eyes that she saw in her brother six days ago. She asks Juliet why he wants them to break her out of the house, and he says that they messed up, but they don't have to owe her anything. He says that even if he likes Juliet, he'd like to help her guide and protect them over the wall. He tells her that he wants to celebrate with Juliet, but Juliet is too late
