About This Chapter
In this short scene, Roxane tries to convince her sister that she is serious about pursuing a higher education in New York City. She tells her that she must pass the entrance exams to get into the university, and she must choose a university of her own choosing. She also tells her sister to get her parents' consent to the idea of studying abroad. Roxane says that she has her own savings, so she will not be able to afford to study abroad. She says that her sister's savings are not reliable, and that she might not pass national exams, too. She tries to talk to Roxane's sister, who is desperate to pursue her boyfriend, Van. Van tells Roxane that they have a date for the entrance exam to be held on the following day, which is the same day that the national exam is to begin. When Roxane asks why she is pushing for the exam, Van tells her she is just trying her luck. She decides to take entrance exams for domestic universities too.
