It's a holiday, and the girls are studying for their mock exams. The narrator is bummed that he hasn't been able to help clean up in alvan's room, but he's happy that he passed the exam. He's also bummed because it's his first night sleeping at someone else's house, and he doesn't want to go home and listen to the girls explain why they haven't worried about him. He asks the girls if they'd like to have a pajama party so they can study together. The girls agree, and they invite the narrator to join them. He tells them that he'll be joining them because alvan is going to college, and that they should start a study group to help him get his grades straight. They all agree that they don't need to be in the same college, since they have their own interests and dreams.
