Surprised, the Governess asks why Guppy didn't tell her why he let her live in his house. Guppy says that he's just waiting for her to come back from her trip to China. The Governess says that she'll tell her everything when she gets back, and then she can pack up her things and move them into her study. She's so excited that she can't wait to tell Guppy what's going on.
