The next morning, Fang wakes up and tells the gang that he's finally found the path to the underworld. He's been using the underground passageway to get to the top of the tower for a long time now, and he thinks it's safe to drink the liquid from the water fountain. Fang points out that the water has a lot of hallucinogens in it, but he doesn't think it'll kill you. They decide to go up the stairs anyway, because they're afraid that everyone will die. Fang says they'll have to work on their spiritual power to get there. He says they need to fortify their minds, but they can't because the stone king has already done it. Fang wonders why they've lost a member. He notes that Fang is at the bottom of the stairs, where he used to go to get away from the monster. Fang suggests that they go down to the "devil's path" first.
