In this chapter, we learn that the main ship has landed on the island and that the 10 men on board are only allowed to land in small craft. They have to be back on time to collect the fruit, otherwise the island will be "creepier" . One of the men asks if they have enough food to last them all the way back to the ship. The man replies that they do, and that he can help them move the fruit as long as they come back alive
