About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that du's research facility is extremely secure, but that the enemies have managed to gain entrance through a special subway system. The intruders were supposed to use this system to escape, but they instead used the emergency fire system to block the entrances and exits. This is not a good sign, says the narrator, because it means that the future of humanity is in serious trouble. The narrator tells us that he feels like he can run the guy over if he meets him again. He tells the narrator that he's lucky enough to think that they've made it this far. He also tells him that it's against the law to create monsters, and that the scientists have been making them for ten years. He asks the narrator to show him respect by telling him that she's a "plotting girl" .
