In this chapter, we learn more about the young man who has just been hired as an assistant to Lin. He is named Yiyi, and he is a hardworking and diligent young man. Lin tells us that he has heard that Yiyi is a new artist, and that he is eager to try his hand at acting. Lin suggests that he attend the upcoming audition for the job of the "space traveler" . He says that the audition will take place on the first day of Yiyi's arrival in Shanghai. Lin says that he can easily arrange for Yiyi to attend on his own. He also says that there is no need to tell the director or the producer of the job because he has already set the date for the audition. Lin explains that even though he has help in the past, Yiyi still wants to be his own man. He wants to develop his talent and skill set. Lin asks if Yiyi will perform well in the audition, and if he will perform disturbingly.
