The scene opens with a conversation between the rich guy and the poor guy. The rich guy is trying to court Don Le. Don Le says that he is the plagiarist and the murderer, and that he has failed in his career, run away from home, and had no one to rely on. He asks Don Le if he is going to Luo Luo's opera tonight, and he says he has already bought a high-speed train ticket. He tells Don Le that he does not know how the opera will work, as Luo is just a "little girl" who does not have anyone to depend on. The poor guy says he just wants to open up a restaurant, selling cooked ducks.
