When the monster wakes up, he's hungry and thirsty. He wants to find something to eat so he doesn't have to worry about what to do if he dies. He finds a cake and smokes it to see if it's edible. He's so happy that he wishes he could eat the cake from the beginning of the story. He wishes that he could taste the food from the cat's mouth. Then he wishes that the cake came from the goddess of the sea. And then he wishes the cake were from a fish.
