In this chapter, we learn that the two old men have been in the empire for decades, and that they have never surrendered. They have always treated each other with dignity, respect, and bravery, and they will never surrender. They are so stubborn and courageous that they will be killed by a young man. The young man, however, is so vicious that he cannot bear to see the two of them die. He tells the young man that they love each other very deeply, and if one of them dies first, the other will come after them. He warns the young men not to fall for the trap of the old man's trap, as he will kill them both.
