The young man's name is yunhai, and he is the son of Huo Zhantian, a powerful man in the valley. Huo's family has formed an alliance with the other three families of the valley to fight against the monarchists. The old man, who has been saved from drowning by the young man, is also a member of the alliance. He is also the owner of the pavilion, which is the main source of supplies for the four families.
