The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the monk, who asks the monk if he is a cultivator of strength. The monk replies that he is, and that he does not need the monk's help in refining his body. He says that the monk is a disciple of the forest, one of seven imperial families, and he will not be able to use his strength any longer. He tells the monk that he should strip off his last piece of clothing, and says that he will take the risk of revealing his identity to the girl of the flower-rain-tower, Miss Dandan. He adds that he has no intention of pursuing Miss dandan, because she is spoiled by the master of the tower. He apologizes for his behavior, but says he only wants to teach the girl a lesson. Miss Dong, who has come to see him, says that if the monk had not come, the family would have been humiliated. He then asks who the woman in green is. She is rumored to be the leader of another tower, the cyan-flower-tower. He wonders why she didn't reveal his identity earlier, and wonders if it was because she feared him.
