About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a description of a strange place in the forest. It's not clear what the snake girl is trying to tell the men, but it's clear that she wants them to know that the forest is a huge place with lots of trees and lots of animals. The narrator tells us that he's afraid of this place because he'd be afraid of joining hands with the business magnet. He's also afraid of the fact that the men are about to hand over the girls to him. He asks the narrator if there's anything he can do to help him figure out what's going on between the two men. He says that he was going to visit the man because he was told that the girls were about to be given over to him at night. He also says that if he could help him and his family in any way, that would be an honor. He tells the narrator to ask him how he can use his magic to help the man he just met. This is the first time that the narrator has seen the man, and he is amazed at how strange the place is. He thinks that the snake woman must have wanted to tell them about the forest, because the place looks like it belongs to a woman, and the narrator is sure that the man must have been there. He wonders why the man didn't just stay at his house and go out in the morning. He is afraid that if the man goes out into the forest at night, he'll get eaten alive by the tiger. He wants to go to his mom's house and bring the food to her before he gets scared to death.
