About This Chapter
Darpa, the military innovation arm of the U.S. Department of Defense, has announced that it will spend $100 million over the next five years to develop cutting-edge technologies that will advance the nation's military capabilities. Darpa's goal, according to its web site, is to create "strategic surprise" by maintaining the superiority of its technology to its adversaries. The goal is to advance knowledge through research and to create innovative technologies to address practical problems in the field of science and technology. In addition, Darpa funds scientists, labs, think tanks, and think-tanks to create new products and technologies that the agency's wish list is "pzw" . The word "privilege" is used to describe how darpa spends its money. It is similar to the way venture capitalists spend their money, in that the company that delivers the goal receives the reward money first. In other words, darpa is like a smart cookie. The term "astronaut" was used to refer to the attempt to develop an alternative energy that would have cost a lot less than the current alternative, the "apanet" of the internet. The idea was to create an alternative to the current system of navigation, positioning, and tracking. The project failed, however, because it did not want to create a "natural evolution advancement" movie like Plato's Republic. Instead, it wanted to create full synthetic organisms that were human emotions and behaviors. They do this to prevent "skynet" from being a reality. The chapter ends with a discussion of Craig Venter, the co-founder of the Human Genome Project. He explains that the goal of the project is to identify all the 20,000 - 25,000 genes in the human genome. This will allow scientists to create weapons that will specifically target the genetic variation of a person's genetic makeup. This is called "germ warfare" and has been going on since the early 1900s. The military has published an article in the November issue of the November military review describing ethnic weapons that were designed to specifically target arabs. This article was written for military personnel and was published in London Sunday Times. The article was titled "Ethnic weapons" and was designed to create custom genetic weapons that would specifically target a specific ethnic group. This was called "gastrowarfare" because it was a contagious disease that was brought on by a single bite. The concept of germ warfare has been around since the beginning of the 20th century. In this chapter, we learn that the
