About This Chapter
Allan was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and he developed the techniques of modern law enforcement. He also invented the use of women in law enforcement, finding that they often got information unobtained by men. He founded his own detective agency, which he called "pinkerton's National Detective Agency" . He helped to lead the failed Scottish Revolution, survived hurricanes crossing the Atlantic, was robbed by Indians, and narrowly avoided death on a doomed steamer. He and his wife moved to Chicago, where they built a successful cooperage. The legend of Allan "the first private eye" began . Only then did the legend of his invention of the "private eye" begin . Allan's cooperage was located outside of Chicago. The water's rough this morning, so they'll all hide in the trees. They'll let em have it, but they need to be careful and do the right thing. They need to flank em, so that they can move around their side. Jim says they're surrounded, and they should just give it up.
