About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a long speech by Desdemona, in which she laments the fact that humans have become so powerful in the last 100 years. She laments that the gods have been destroyed and that she will have to destroy the rest of the world with her power. The speech is interrupted by a roar from the dragon, who exclaims that he can see the humans' attacks and that he still has the power to destroy them. He then proceeds to taunt the humans, saying that they are impossible to defeat and that they must be knocked out before he can complete his destruction. The humans, however, cannot believe that the dragon is capable of such a feat. They are amazed at the size and strength of the dragon and wonder why the dragon would want to fight with such a large creature. The two men then begin to argue about whether or not the humans should be allowed to continue their fight. The men agree that they should leave the fight, and the dragon exclaims, "boom, boom, dog, boom so, human." He then begins to show the humans his "forest of swords."
