The chapter opens with a conversation between the Governess and Ren. The Governess tells Ren that things in the family are complicated and that everyone is trying to protect each other. Ren apologizes for not finding him sooner. Ren says that he is not cut out to be a member of the rich Ren family, and he hopes Ren will forgive him. Ren tells him that his grandfather is getting better, but Ren says it is already too late for him to come back. Ren asks Ren if he is doing well around the house, and Ren says he is. He tells Ren to get up and knock on the boss's door, and then he tells him to go to the base and check out what is going on there. He says he has a feeling something is about to happen at the base, and that it is the eagle. Ren advises Ren not to quarrel with Ren, but to listen to Ren. Ren agrees to go with Ren.
