About This Chapter
Mr. Beiming and Mr. Mingke, the eldest grandsons of the Mingke long family, meet for the very first time. The elder Mingke tells the young man that he and his wife have reached the age of marriage and that they can take advantage of each other's company. He also tells the actress that he has seen her works and that she is a good actress. The actress interrupts Mingke to tell him that she has seen his granddaughter's work and that he should not get mad at her because it is his grandfather who told him that the devil was hiding in the dump. He tells Mingke that he will take care of Mingke's granddaughter well and that the girl is back home. The young man asks Mingke if there is anyone else who wants to go for a walk and Mingke apologizes for not accompanying him. He says that he was mistaken for someone else and that it has been twenty years since he first met Mingke.
