About This Chapter
The next morning, Ming's father comes to the door. He's worried about his daughter's health, but he's also worried about what he'll say to his son-in-law if he finds out that Ming has been unfaithful to his daughter. He tells Ming that he can tell him what's going on if he wants to, and Ming can go to him for help if he needs it. Ming asks his father if he'd like some tea, and the father says yes, and then Ming asks if he can see the photos on the web. The father says that he would like to see them, but Ming doesn't want to look at the pictures, because he thinks they're "just a fraud" . Ming tells his father to calm down and not to be misled by the photos. Ming says that she'll be fine, but she's not sure that she was right about the other two. Ming is still worried about her daughter, and she asks her father if there's anything she can do to help her. Ming wants to know why Ming is kneeling in front of the door, and he asks her if she still feels dizzy. Ming explains that she has been kneeling for too long, and that's why she can't get the medicine she needs. Ming then tells his dad that he has to go and explain to his father why he stayed with him, and why he didn't do anything to help Ming. Ming apologizes to his dad, saying that he was wrong to protect his daughter and that he apologizes sincerely.
