She is worried about the dress she is wearing, which is too expensive for her, but she is also worried about her boyfriend, whom she does not know is the father of the child she is carrying. She tries to comfort him by saying that he is the one who made her pregnant, but he does not listen to her. The chapter ends with a soliloquy about how it is time to test her loyalty to her boyfriend. If she can find a way to seduce him away, she can do so.
