About This Chapter
The scene opens with Ming's visit to his sister's house, where he tells her that he ate a little bit of feifei and that he'll be back soon. He's worried that she's going to scream if he tries to enter her room, so he asks the servants to let him in. Ming asks if they're in the shower, and the servants say that they aren't. Ming wants to know why Ming doesn't let him into his room, but the servants tell him that it's not proper for him to disturb the conversation between the two of them. Ming says that he has something important to say to Ming, and he wants Ming to come in and talk to him. Ming tells him that he can't come in because he's supposed to be talking to his mistress, and Ming asks why Ming isn't allowed in his room. Ming replies that he was once told that the man who tries to kiss a woman at the side of the bed is very dangerous, and that Ming shouldn't try to kiss her when he gets to that point. Ming then asks if Ming suddenly feels that being his wife is a blessing, and if he suddenly feels as though he has a home of his own. Ming is shocked that Ming would suddenly feel that way, but he says that Ming is just as blessed as he is, because he has his own home. He tells Ming that he still hasn't found a good candidate for the job, and asks if he should do anything if the situation keeps getting worse.
