The next morning, the narrator wakes up in the middle of the night, wondering who the heck is in the room with him. He's not sure what's going on, but he's pretty sure that it's the president of the university, who's been looking for him. The narrator tries to calm him down, telling him that he doesn't owe him anything, and that he has done what he promised to do. He tells her that he'll teach her how to act recklessly, and she'll have to obey him. She's got a bad memory, he says, so he won't be able to help her. He hears that the university's literature club is looking for a sponsor, and he offers to invest in their movie if she's obedient to him.
