This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. In this scene, we are introduced to a number of characters who have returned to the vampire world, including Corinna, who has returned to her former life as a vampire. She is now a member of the Senate, and she has been sent to the Senate to serve as a senator's aide. She has also been sent on a mission to the White House, where she will serve as the ambassador's representative to the United States. She will also be responsible for the administration of the new laws that will come into effect in the U.S.
