In this chapter, we learn a little bit more about Yon's family history. When Yon was a child, her family was at war with vampires, and she was forced to choose between the two. She chose the vampire, and Yon was defeated in the battle. Yon tells Yon that he inherited the vampire's genes, just like him. Yon apologizes, but says that he probably will never be able to clean up the sins that he committed, even with his whole life. Yon asks Yon why he didn't tell her about the plan to kill her, and he says that Yon is more capable than he thinks, and that he can do more than Yon thinks. He tells Yon to go back to his old stomping grounds, galerite. Yon says he still loves Yon, and even if he has to pay for his life, he will not hesitate.
