About This Chapter
Act 22 opens with a mother praying because she has used up all of her powers to save her son. She tells the audience that her mother will not wake up. She says that her strength looks exactly like her mother's, and that the kami in her hair cannot easily kill her. She plans to use this power to protect her son from the "kamitsuka family" . She also says that she has heard that there is a secret power that can be used to stop kami from entering a woman's hair. This power is called a "scroll aoi" , which means "the scroll of a man." The scroll says that the body of the scroll is made from the hair of a kami. The mother and son are both exhausted, and they decide to go home. The kamisama who gave the scroll to the mother says that if she can use it to improve her power as Miko, everyone in Japan will worship her.
