About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the guy who's pretending to be a human isn't really a human at all. He's just a client of a guy named Esther slag, who wants to know what's wrong with the basement. He also has a bunch of questions about why the basement is empty. He doesn't think it's a good idea for him to move to the basement, since he's not used to living in a place that's so dirty. He tells us that if he found out that he was suspicious of the guy, the inheritance would all fly away, and he'd be out of a job as a guardian. He suggests that he move to Esther's house, since it'll be a bit of a shock to adjust to a new place, but he says he'll see about it later. He asks if he can leave his bag at the house, and the guy says yes. The guy says that he paid 5 years rent in full, and now he can't leave the place in such a bad condition. He says he has to go to work right away, so he won't be able to explain anything. He wants to talk about garbage disposal, garbage collection, and cleaning of the suicide site. He thinks it would be nice to say that the kid died, but it would also be a shame to say he died. He wonders if the kid knew about it, and if he intentionally killed the kid. He concludes that if a puppy were to die, it would make the person who raised it feel bad about buying another
