About This Chapter
The narrator laments the fact that he and his companions will soon be "dead in hell" . He says that he came to say his final goodbyes to his companions. He tells them that the door to hell will open tonight, and that they will be able to see each other when they are supposedly dead. He also tells them about the fake deaths he has had, including that of adam and lucifer, who were both stabbed by revolutionists. The narrator asks the new king not to go to hell, but to stay with him, so that he can bid farewell before he leaves. He then tells the narrator about how his life has changed since he met him and adam, and how empty it would have been if he had not met them. He asks the narrator if he has bad thoughts, and the narrator tells him that the knife was specially made to kill devils, but now that it has been used to kill humans, he doesn't know how to use it. He wonders if adam is now going to live as a normal child, and wonders if it is between a man and a devil. Azazel, the narrator says, isn't going to hell as well, because he has been protecting the prince and his family from the outside since the beginning. When he goes to heaven, he will quietly disappear, and his life will not have much to do with him.
