About This Chapter
In this chapter, the master explains that everything has been prepared for the soldiers, and that he will be taking his leave. He needs to go help rescue the townspeople. He tells the soldiers that his hand got burned while he was unconscious, and he wants to heal it for them. He says that he wished to teach them the ways of their lexicon, but that with these events, he will not be able to do so. The purpose of this, he says, is to train one's control over the flame. Once one has this control, one can unlock more abilities. The most important thing, he explains, is how one feels when one uses their lexicon. He compares the green flame that Gui created to a little girl, covered in blood, who was carried away by a man wearing a striped shirt. He asks the soldiers if they think it strange for green flames to burn objects, and they reply that it is strange. The master asks if they are done talking, and the soldiers say that they are not. The old man is in a heated battle, and it is not advisable for them to stay there any longer.
